The problem of lacking a university degree is that it's a grey area. There are no paths defined, you have to figure it out on your own. For a person who has ever done it, like you and me, we can do it all over again and a degree felt like a waste of time. But for a person who has never done it, it's all new to them and the journey might feel daunting. And to be honest success isn't guaranteed either, there is a lot that comes into play, i.e. discipline, what you choose to start, capital availability, etc.
For a newbie, a job puts you at the bottom of the wealth pyramid which is *offering services* where you can start at zero dollars, save from you salary and use your savings to start a business.
