From the book, 'Think Grow Rich', Napoleon Hill refers to luck as favorable breaks. Hard work results to favorable breaks. Basically through hard work that's how you become lucky.

A good recent example is Elon Musk in 2008 during the recession. In December of that year he completely run out of money, Tesla was hours from being announced bankrupt. Then by luck SpaceX received a one billion contract from NASA. Receiving such amount of money would ensure both SpaceX and Tesla remained alive.

The reason SpaceX received that contract is because their hard work and commitment attracted NASA. They were just the best at the time.

From analyzing my life, this is true. Most of the time I have been lucky there was a lot of hard work in the backend.
